hardwood floor spacing from wall
|
|
When laying the floor you want to start your first row 3/4" from the wall to allow for ample expansion of the wood. This assumes you have not installed wall trim or shoe molding. If you have the wall trim already laid you may need to reduce this number as little as possible to make sure you have no gaps. You may also want to place spacers along the wall to make sure the wood flooring does not move during the installation. You will want to snap a chalk line the thickness of your flooring plus the gap.
